I'm not sure about you but as far as shopping and plastic bags go, the pure fact that I'll be loading my car up & my pantry up with plastic sacks has me beyond perturbed . Yes folks, I took it to that level & used the word " PERTURBED". So, you know this has got to be serious. I'm not sure if its just the fact that I'm a dramatic person but It was physically & emotionally bothering me. Each grocery trip, loading up green plastic sacks with fruits and veggies . Just to have them then loaded once again into a larger plastic sack at the end of my shopping trip. (more…)

Oh la, la. Granola bars! Chocolate, banana, almonds, oh my. Cranberries, cherries, flax seed, to DIE for!

A few months back, I was having a very strong pregnancy craving for something chocolate, but wanted something a bit healthy. At least something I could make myself believe was tasty enough. That I could munch on without feeling totally guilty about my pleasure. So I started typing away in my search bar and on Pinterest to find the perfect recipe for healthy, tasty granola bars and what I found sure did please this pregnant lady's palate. (more…)

Here in North Mississippi, the weather is, slowly but surely, looking like fall is just around the corner. It was an extremely hot summer, especially for me, seeing as I am 9 months pregnant. My due date is fast approaching and I'm ecstatic for fall and winter. This means boots, scarves, ciders, homemade butters, pie baking and pumpkin patches! First, I would like to start off by saying that I am extremely excited and honored to be joining the Speak Green Mississippi team.
